*****We now have the ability to use BrainPOP in the classroom.  However, it is an interactive activity with sound, so your child will need a set of his/her own earbuds to keep at school with his/her flashdrive (thumb drive, memory stick.)  Please send in the earbuds as soon as possible with your child's class (NOT classroom) number written on each bud.   It is the number he/she writes next to his/her name every day.  Ask your child what his/her classroom or line up number is.

3.  NEW Literature Circle Job due, Weds., 2/8 **BRING JOB AND BOOK:  Your child brought home a Literature Circle last week (Homework Section of his/her"Organizer").  Be sure your child brings his/her completed Literature Circle Job and Book on WEDNESDAY at 7:55, since we start Literature Circle about 8:05.  Give your child time to practice reading the report, so he/she is ready to read it to his/her group tomorrow.

Spirit Day, Tuesday, 1/31   It's Crazy Hair Day.  Student leadership fundraiser, "Pennies for Patients,"  begins today.  A Collection Box is in my classroom and your child has a note in his/her "Organizer." 3.  NEW Literature Circle Job due, Weds., 1/25 **BRING JOB AND BOOK:  Your child brought home a Literature Circle last week (Homework Section of his/her"Organizer").  Be sure your child brings his/her completed Literature Circle Job and Book on WEDNESDAY at 7:55, since we start Literature Circle about 8:05.  Give your child time to practice reading the report, so he/she is ready to read it to his/her group tomorrow. 
4.  SUMMARY for The Nights of the Pufflings:  We read and discussed the story yesterday.  Your child has the summary for this story in the "Homework" section of his/her Organizer.  The test for this story is on Friday, 1/20.  Please have your child study the summary M, Tu, Weds, Th and turn it in on Friday, 1/20, the day of the test.

Correct READING Theme Test #3  Due last week.  Your child has the test given before the break in his/her Homework section.  If it has a 100% he/she has received a treat because there were no errors.  The KEY is attached to the back.  Be sure to teach each problem rather than just copy the answers on the key.  Please help your child correct the errors he/she made as we completed the pages together.  AFTER HE/SHE HAS CORRECTED  his/her work, please check for accuracy & sign. 
2.  CORRECT Benchmark MATH Test # 2 due last week.  If it has 100% written on it. a , he/she has received a treat because there were no errors.  If there are errors on the test, look at the key and guide your child to the correct answer    Please have your child correct the mistakes and SIGN WHEN ALL PAGES (FRONT AND BACK) ARE CORRECTED.

1.  Excel Homework #86:  Your child had ample time (45 minutes) to finish in class.  If your child wasn't able to finish work at school, please have him/her finish math at home.  PLEASE correct your child's work at home.  If you find incorrect answers, please guide him/her to the correct answer.  WHEN the ENTIRE paper is finished and completely correct, please sign both sides and have your child put it in his/her "Organizer" in the Homework section for the return trip to school.  After papers are recorded and corrected, I recycle them at school.  HINT:  If you find any math papers in your child's "Organizer" they have not been turned in.   Please empty the "Completed Work" section of your child's "Organizer" EVERY DAY. 
2.  Nights of the Pufflings  This week's spelling packet is due Friday, 1/20 .  You can locate this packet in the "Homework" section of your child's "Organizer."  Please sign each page when it is completed correctly and keep all pages stapled together.  Spelling Test on Friday, 1/20.   ***The little writing assignment on one of the pages isn't required.
